I remember someone posting a picture of the "little Mermaid" over in Copenhagen, Denmark a few weeks ago. Tonight I came across a bit of travel trivia in my scrapbook. What some of you may not know, is that the Art Council in Denmark commissioned an Artist to make the "Little mermaid" statue again on the 100th Anniversary of the first one being made.
That new one is neither little, nor demure. Supposedly the Artist used a relative as his Model. So in a hundred years, you can see both how culture and time affect beauty. Here is the "New little mermaid". And she is hidden in a side street well away from the old one. I wonder why?

I live in Denmark and I didn't know this, but then I live on Julland. Only time I get to København is when I am taking a plane. Next time I am over there and got some time, will get a pic.
The Danish culture has changed a lot since I came here in *92. Then, on the evening news it was nothing if for them to show fully naked people on the screen if it was connected to, for example an opera, a play, a movie. Many of the old movies, many had nudes - these were shown on regular TV. I got shoc4ked once, the wife took me to dinner with some of her friends. While around the table, the lady said to her daughter, "Tomorrow we need to get you some new bras, your tits are getting too big the the ones you got". In the States, what moms would say this, and especially around guests they didn't know.
After I started my business as a farrier, will never forget, I stopped at a little store to get something for lunch, so pulled off in the parking place. It was nice, right next to a little beach. I walked across the road, got my lunch, came back and sat on the sea wall to eat. While I was eating, 4 women walked out of the little town, across the road, on to the beach, proceeded to take their clothes off for a "lunch break" in the sun. I figured I needed to take my full 30 minutes lunch break, as someone needed to.
Today, on regular TV, you don't see the skin as I did 30yrs ago.

SGT Kevin Hughes - If I ever get a chance, I will take some new pics and post them. But like I said, I don't get over there, hardly at all.

SGM Mikel Dawson - A farrier? Man that is a dangerous job. My old HS girlfriend had one come over and shoe her horse every now and then, and man he had some stories to tell. No worries about the pictures. Heck I live less than ten miles from the beach and we don't get there very often. LOL
