Entered "Pre-Basic" (BCT orders were not cut yet) at Fort Jackson, SC in 1968. BCT/AIT Fort Polk, LA in 1969 for 17 weeks, including "zero week". Started first MOS as Clerk Typist, moved into Company Clerk slot. Left military in 1974 as SP5. Rejoined in 1990 as Specialist, later promoted to SGT, then SSG. Drill Sgt. School graduate-Ft. Knox, 19K graduate-Knox, 95B-McClellan, Deployed 1991 to SWA.
Retired as County Executive Director (CED), having managed the day-to-day activities of the USDA field service center and its employees. The CED and most county office staff legally are employees of elected committees rather than the federal government, although their salaries come from federal funds.

I am retired, but the above was my last duty station. I was trained to be a highly proficient crew member of an M1 Abrams tank, with the ability to function at any of the 4 crew stations on the vehicle.
