So I ppen my letter from TRI-WEST that tells me the cost of recent lab work and what the VA paid.

It's about the same if you have decent insurance. Managed to cut my knee one morning too early for the urgent care, so I had to go to the emergency room. a Tetanus shot, 8 stitches, the stuff to irrigate the wound and clean it up and about 30 minutes of care by a nurse and the ER doctor was a bit over 5 grand. BCBS paid around $1200 and I had already paid the $100 copay.
